How to treat pressure ulcers with Flaminal®

Flaminal® is a unique primary dressing used in the treatment of pressure ulcers. Chronic wounds such as pressure ulcers can be challenging to manage due to multiple wound-related factors such as devitalised tissue and increased exudate levels. Flaminal® creates an optimal moist healing environment for new tissue growth in a number of ways:

  • Debridement - Flaminal® has debriding properties. It dissolves necrosis and fibrinous slough and absorbs them from the wound bed. By such it supports the body’s natural healing process.
  • Exudate management – contains an absorbent alginate to absorb excess exudate, cleaning the wound and absorbing bacteria
  • Antimicrobial – contains an enzyme system which offers antimicrobial protection, and reduces bacteria released from biofilms.
